Kettering is hoping to be the first in the country to have a ‘Shopper Loyalty Card’ in every household. The loyalty scheme launched last year is to be expanded this month due to its success.
Lots of town centres have similar schemes but Kettering aims to have a card in every household. In December 5,000 were released, now another 10,000 will be dispatched this month. Then another 30,000 are planned after that and all cards are free to the consumer.
If people can buy something locally, Newlands centre manager, Neil Griffin, wants people to be encouraged into the centre rather than travel to the likes of Milton Keynes or Northampton, keeping money local.
A lot are independent traders which have signed up to the scheme, but some chains have also joined, names like PizzaHut, Specsavers and Waterstones.
To obtain your own loyalty card, contact the tourist information service, they are based in Kettering Borough Councils Customer Service Centre in Bowling Green Road, Kettering. You can also email or telephone them to order your card or for more information go to www.my-loyalty-card.com/kettering
