Bespoke Web Design: 2012 Hot Trends

Circles in minimalist bespoke web design will be trending in 2012. The primary function of any website design is to draw visitors to the site, keep users on the site and give them a reason to return. Any creative field is in a state of flux most of the time, and web design is no exception. The 2012 trends will allow designers to free their work from the limits of coding languages, be more creative and use less angular elements.

The evolution of circles
The tendency towards creativity in design has been growing for over a decade. In the late 1990s the standard web design was a combination of small fonts and words in boxes. In the mid 2000s it featured bigger images and bigger fonts as was seen on CNN’s official site and by the late 2000s all buttons on websites including Fox News had become circular. Today rounded elements are considered a primary element of bespoke web design and the hot trend for 2012-2015.

Circles are everywhere
Renowned British political activist and graffiti artist Banksy has often been a source of inspiration for other graffiti artists and web designers. He is famous in Britain for his controversial use of graffiti on highly visible areas such as public walls. His works have been often replicated on T-shirts in the USA, while one of his quotes can confirm the trend of 2012 towards making website elements predominantly round: “Most things look better when you put them in a circle”.

Minimalism is in
While circles are going to be the main attraction of 2012 sites, designers suggest keeping background elements to a minimum. The minimalist trend can help them express more eloquently what they have to say as too many details may distract the visitor’s attention from products and services promoted on the site. More importantly, it will likely elevate the mobile user’s web experience. Smart phone and tablet holders are no longer willing to zoom in and out images or text and would like to read any information provided on a website simply by scrolling down a page.

A new year often means new trends, and so does 2012. Circles as part of minimalist design are expected to be the hot trend from now on. Designers will no longer be limited by the confines of coding languages and with the increase in mobile use can let their imagination run wild to create bespoke web design elements that can fascinate visitors and elevate their browsing experience on different platforms.
