Benefits of getting an iphone app for your business

We explore some of the common questions we get asked when a buisness is thinking of having an app for your business, we also quash some of the myths behind iphone and ipod apps.

I have a website, why do i need an iPhone app?
A website is essential for business, we all know that, an iphone or ipad app can be regarded as another way of marketing your business, possibly reaching thousands of new potential clients. in fact, figures from Apple state that there are 32 million unique visits to the UK app store every month.

No matter how good your website is or how high it is in Google, Yahoo or Bing, it is unlikely you will have the opportunity to get that type of exposure.

How much can I charge for my app?
Most business apps are free, after all, your app talks about your business, its services, maybe it provides directions to your offices, as you can imagine, free apps are the most popular. You can charge though, it is entirely at your discretion.

Is there a way of monetising a free app?
Yes you can, it is called the iAd program, random ads will appear on your app and you are paid per click. This is very similar to how You Tube monetises through ads on videos shown. Pebble can help you with this if required.

What can I put in my app?
You can have whatever you like, as with most websites, there aren't many limitations, companies like Pebble Web Design can produce these at cost effective prices.

I have heard apps are expensive, how much does it cost to build an app?
Costs vary and it is difficult to pigeon hole, it all depends what you want your app to do, we have great ideas though and we may come up with some things you might not have thought of! Apps used to be typically around £5-10k , Pebble have driven that cost right down to below £1k for certain types of apps.

How long does it take to build an app?
The length of time varies, depending on complexity, we have to bear in mind that Apple takes 7-10 days to review and approve all apps to make sure they meet their criteria.
