If you are lucky enough to have a website that ticks all the right boxes (good web design, good web content and a great product or service) then you are certainly on the way to having a website that people will want to visit and get you to the top of search engines such as Google, whether it is to check your company out or to buy your products.
There are thousands of these great websites out on the internet that never seem to get noticed. The question is. How do you get them noticed for little effort or no money?
There are certainly a few things you can do and we have listed some of them below:
Get your website listed on directory websites
This generally costs nothing, unless you target paid directories such as yell.com, if you offer a local service then think about getting your company listed on local directories (remember that world domination doesn't happen overnight). Keep your website updated!
We know this can be tough as you have to run your business at the same time, try to update your website at least once a week. Best way to do this is to blog regularly on your website, talk about, not only your own news but what is going on in your industry and news about what is affecting your industry at the moment.
Get social!
Twitter can be scary if you are not used to it, our advice is to start tweeting about big wins you have had, your news and any offers you have available. Twitter is also a great way to do recruitment if you are looking for staff.
Make sure all the major search engines know about you.
If you have had your website built by Pebble this will already be done for you, if not, get yourself over to Google, Bing and Dmoz to submit your website, it is free and takes very little effort.

Reciprocol linking is a great way to generate backlinks, ask other website business owners to add a link from their website to yours, best if you share a common business theme or product.
