Students from Year 11 only had the morning to prepare their product before ‘selling’ their idea to the Dragon’s Den panel which included some Chamber members.
Seven teams made their products which included a pencil case made from a school tie, a school tie photo-frame, memorabilia year book, annual CD complication of school drama productions, lanyard tie planner and a Hampton bear.
After some entertaining pitches and much deliberation the winning team Memorabilia Medals was announced by Dragon Panel member David Millward, Director of Pebble Ltd who said: “Having worked with the students all day I am really impressed with the innovative ideas that have come through. Presentation skills were superb too!”
Sue Wojtowicz, Business Manager at Hampton College added: “All students came up with such innovative ideas and produced excellent work in such a short space of time and I was very impressed with their professionalism. I’d like to also offer my thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for finding the Dragon’s to take part.”
Memorabilia Medals were laser cut designs of the school logo and year into plastic discs of various colours which represent the different houses within the school. They can be used as a memory of the school as well as medals for sports day.
The winning team will be invited as guests of Pebble at their corporate box at POSH next season and they were also awarded with £100 to produce some medals.
The Chamber members on the panel were Paul Fieldhouse of WLP, Julie Bloodworth of Rawlinsons, Colin Grant of Business Link, David Millward of Pebble Ltd, and Sue Wojtowicz and Helen Price of Hampton College.
