The data from the Department for Transport (DfT) shows that in the 12 months up to mid-October 2012, 16 per cent of city people cycled at least once a week. This is above the national average of 10 per cent (which went unchanged) and an increase – albeit small – on the previous 12 months, when it stood at 15 per cent.
