This was no great surprise but on April 21st 2015 Google announced that their ranking system for Google Search will take into account websites that are deemed as "Mobile Friendly" and will promote them accordingly.

Times have changed recently and Google has seen an upsurge in users' search moving away from traditional desktop computers towards phones and tablets whilst they conduct their searching "on the move".

So what does this mean to you?
If your website was built more than 2-3 years ago it is likely your website wouldn't be "Mobile Friendly". This is not the end of the world but something you will want to address in the near future. Pebble has been actively upgrading websites in recent months to ensure that websites are kept right up to date with the latest trends.

There is a free, quick and easy way to check this and that is to visit:

https://www.google.co.uk/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

Enter your website link in the box and click the "Analyze". Google will quickly scan your website to see if it is Mobile Friendly or not.

If you see one of these:

this page is mobile friendly

This is a positive result, Google says you have a mobile friendly website.

However, if you see one of these:

not mobile friendly

It would seem as if Google doesn't think your website is mobile friendly. Your next step is to speak to Pebble on 01733 902070 or by email via our contact form.

We hop this short post has given you an insight into how Google is changing and how your website needs to change and evolve.
