If you are a small business you will know about the struggle of not only running your business but having to do social media marketing at the same time. more often that not the social media strategy will take the back seat.
As a new years resolution why not give it a go with some of the top tips for 2014
1. Get yourself to the right channel
Have a think where your potential customers and prospects hang out. as an example, if you are a driving instructor, your target age group is 17-25 year olds, this age group is Facebook territory, get yourself on Facebook and focus your attention there.
2. One thing at a time
It is much more effective if you focus all your attention on one social media channel. anymore than this and you will be not only diluting the quality but you will lose focus.
3. Be consistent
From the start, decide how much time you are going to focus on social media, if you can only afford to spend an hour a week then stick to that, it is not going to work if you spend 3 hours one day and then 20 next month.
4. Don't get interrupted
Try not to constantly go on social media during "non social media" time, getting distracted from your working day will mean you break the consistency rule (3), turn off email and sms notifications.
5. Review your analytics
As with everything in business (online or not), every activity should be yielding a result, this applies to social media. make sure you have analytics installed so you can monitor this
