Back in 2012, the Vine app was born and almost instantly snapped up by Twitter, who immediately saw its massive potential. Vines are now a common sight all over social media, but for those of you who haven’t heard the term, I’ll offer a short explanation.

The Vine app allows the user to record and edit a snippet of video up to about 6 seconds… or the attention span of the average Facebook user! It might seem strange, but these funny little videos can be an incredibly powerful tool for Businesses both large and small.

If a picture says a thousand words, a vine can say ten thousand. Whether it’s showing off your new office, telling your customers about the latest offers, or even just a funny video to make people laugh, vines have the potential to be shared like crazy, opening your business up to a whole host of potential customers.

Although the time limit might seem like a harsh constraint, it is actually what makes vine so great for getting information across. You only have those six short seconds, meaning that your message needs to be short, sweet, and most importantly memorable. Think of someone scrolling Twitter or Facebook – an image is easily ignored, and many of us won’t bother to sit through a long winded

YouTube video, but that six second sweet spot is perfect for getting your point across quickly and efficiently!
