Social Media Pretender to Social Media God

When it comes to social media you either need to be riding that train or left at the station scratching your head. We are going to be having a look at how you can slicken up your social media profile.

Sit Back And Analyse
It is easy to go ahead and get all your social media accounts setup, they are all free and easy to do but STOP RIGHT THERE!

First you need to have a look at what you are going to be using each social media channel for (by channel we mean Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc) and weigh up the strategy for each one.

Ask yourself these simple questions:

1) What are your competition using and for what reason ?
2) How many hours are you dedicating per week for each channel ?
3) How are you going to get your social media channels to work together for the greater good ?

Now that you have it clear in your head what is going to happen let’s look how these are going to work for you, at the end of the day, they need to provide a return on investment so getting it right at this stage is crucial

Define The Social Media Direction
By this we are trying to define what you are going to speak about. You musn’t assume because you have your social media channel there please will engage you, they simply won’t, how people use social media is vastly different, your posts should be engaging but should also provide a springboard for discussion.

Don’t be afraid to engage users directly if you need to.

Turn Yourself Into A Creative Force
It is easier to make your social media channel more interesting if ask questions, we don’t mean questions like how they are or use those boring tools that generate posts for you, users see through these and turn them off straightaway. Have a debate or competitions on your social media channel to provoke interest.

What Do Followers Mean?
Once you start getting followers this means they are following you for a reason, they are interested in what you have to say. Keep your news coming and keep it relevent, try not to get side tracked with personal comments about kittens or someone falling over in the street on your way to the tube this morning.

Keep It Up To Date!
Take it from us, if you arent’t regularly posting on your social media channels then close them, you will do more harm than good if you fail to update them. By regular and due to how real time social media works you should look to be posting at least twice a week with relevent, creative content.
